Basic

Basic Rueda De Casino Calls

Call Name Description
Al Medio Closed position start to rueda. Partners start marking half-time (step on 1, 3, 5, 7) in place.
Una Bulla A shout on 7, usually from the Al Medio position
Un Flaco From Al Medio, slide inwards on 3 to form a tighter circle
Un Gordo From Al Medio, slide outwards on 7 to enlarge circle
Saca El Agua Del Pozo From Al Medio, pretend to grab water from the well on 5-6-7
Por Arriba/P'Arriba Marking time (1-2-3, 5-6-7), partners start traveling in closed position counter clockwise.
Por Abajo/P'abajo Same as por arriba, but traveling clockwise
Pegale Un Taro/Dos Taros While traveling in Por Arriba or Por Abajo, leads walk under follows' right arms to next partner.
Mentira While starting Pegale Un Taro, if caller calls mentira, come back to same partner instead of switching
Pegale Un Taro Sin Soltar Swtich partner while still holding previous follow's hand. Can be repeated many times in a row, must keep holding original partner's hand.
Quitatela Follows walk back as long as it takes to get back to original partner.
Sueltala Release hand of original partner.
Paso Basico The default casino open position pattern when no call is made. On 1-2-3, both partners step backwards (opposite of LA style basic), creating separation, on 5-6-7 they come together, their free hands coming together on 5.
Dile Que No Casino equivalent of cross-body lead. Almost all patterns end with dile que no or a switch to another partner. Dile que no can be done either in normal hand positions or single-handed with a right-to-right hold
Dame, Dame Dos, Dame Tress Call to switch to next partner, two partners downstream, or three partners downstream
Dame Con Palmada, Con Dos Palmadas, Con Tres Palmadas Same as Dame, except with one, two or three claps starting on the count of 7 (7, 7-8, 7-8-1). Can also be called in abbreviated fashion: Dame una con una, una con una, una con dos, dos con dos, etc...
Enchufle Basic inside turn for the follow, with a push-pull on 1-2 to lead the turn. This is the most typical ending to almost every move in casino, and almost every pattern contains an enchufle of some sort in it, either in normal hand-hold or cross-handed. Can be followed by a dile que no, or a switch to next partner.
Enchufle Doble Same as enchufle, except instead of switching to next partner or doing dile que no, the lead checks the follow on 7 and brings her back to starting position then performs another enchufle
Adios A La Prima

Lead lifts left arm and walks under follows right arm pn 1-2-3, while rotating to face and switch to next partner on 5-6-7.

La Prima Con La Hermana Starts with Adios A La Prima, but before switching to next partner, perform Enchufle, then switch to next partner.
La Prima Con Toda La Familia Starts with Adios A La Prima, then perform Enchufle just like Con La Hermana, then before switchin to next partner, lock right arms and walk two counts of 8 in a circle in place, then switch to next partner.
Sombrero Wind-up (bring follow's right arm towards center of circle)and switch to cross-handed hand-hold (right arms on top) on count of 7, then lead an outside turn on 1-2-3, 5-6-7, with both hands holding the entire time. Finish with the sombrero arm position, lead's right arm over follow's shoulders, lead's left arm behind lead's head, into a dile que no. Do not switch to next partner.
Sombrero Al Piso Sombrero with both partners dropping down to the floor on the count of 1-2-3 of the dile que no
Sombrero Y Quedate Sombrero but stay in sombrero position (don't immediately do dile que no) until caller calls another move. Both partners face the center of the circle.
Vacilala Exact same move as Sombrero in terms of footwork. Lead outside turn by winding up on 7, but do not switch hands. Lead lets go of follow on 3, allowing follow a free spin. Conclude with a dile que no. Do not switch to next partner.
Setenta Two-handed outside turn for follow on first count of 8, leading to an armlock position. Then unwrap follow on 1-2-3, enchufle for the lead on 5-6-7, enchufle and dile que no on last count of 8.
El Dedo Switch to cross-handed hold, right-to-right (hold for the entire pattern), outside turn for the follow on first count of 8, then enchufle for the follow on 1-2-3, hook turn for the lead on 5-6-7, then final enchufle and dile que no on last count of 8.
El Uno Switch to right-to-right hold, then break arm of follow and grab other hand with left-to-left hold. Perform two sets of rocking steps, then finish with sombrero position and dile que no.
El Dos Same as el uno, except starts with Enchufle and lead ends up in front of follow, then performs full sombrero and dile que no.
El Doce El Uno and El Dos in series.
Panque/Siete On 1-2-3, follow rotates inside to face away from lead, then on 5-6-7 rotates back out.
Yogur On 5-6-7 both partner jump in very close, staggering legs, then on 1-2-3 step backwards to the paso basico
Un Fly/Una Linea/Un Role From paso basico, let go of partner, open up to downstream partner, and clap on 1 before coming back to paso basico. Fly: clap with both hands up. Linea: Clap about tummy-height. Role: Clap while crouching.
La Cucaracha Stomp on 5 while in paso basico.
Festival Festival de any move = the same move repeated three times, with one, two and three claps starting on 7 while switching partners. Typically, festival de enchufle.
Con Giro/Con Vuelta Any move (enchufle, dame) can be combined with these. Con Giro: inside turn for the lead. Con Vuelta: outside turn for the lead.

Por Abajo/P'Abajo/Amarra

From paso basico, start as adios a la prima, but once half a rotation is complete, stay in open position and start marking time traveling clockwise

Intermediate Rueda De Casino Calls

Call Name Description
Abanico Sombrero, but instead of completing sombrero with a dile que no the lead keeps the follow turning with the right arm on 1-2-3, then performs a hook turn on 5-6-7. Finish directly in paso basico.
Amistad From a dile que no position, cross-handed right to right, lead makes the follow do an inside turn, then leads two outside turns and a dile que no under his left arm to the next partner.
Bayamo Cross-handed, right-to-right, lead an outside turn on first count of 8, finishing with right arm across the shoulders of follow. Grab left hand, then lead follow around the back on the next count of 7 to a wind-up position. Perform back-to-back turn, then two-handed enchufle and finish in sombrero position with a dile que no.
Bayamo Por Arriba Start like bayamo, but lead goes down on 1-2-3 of the third count of 8 while leading follow around him, then perform a back-to-back turn directly into a sombrero for the finish.
Bayamo Por Abajo Start like bayamo, but while leading woman around go under her left arm, then two-handed enchufle and sombrero finish.
El Atrevido Start like panque/siete, but check the follow at the left hip and right shoulder, lead her into another turn, followed by a dile que no.
Kentucky Two handed enchufle to the "cuddle" position, followed by a hook turn for the man and a dile que no.
Montana The same as El Dedo, but two-handed using the sombrero grip the entire pattern. Finish in sombrero and dile que no.
Montana Por Abajo Montana with the lead going under the follow's right arm, then continue with regular montana
Pasillo From paso basico, start on 5 and perform a series of suzy-Q's then go back to paso basico
Ponle Sabor

Start like el uno, but only one-handed. Follow with an outside turn for the lead. then a hook turn. Lead two exhibela's followed by a siete moderno, then dile que no

Setenta Complicado Start like Setenta, then lead the follow in a turn behind the back with an enchufle for the lead, then a final enchufle and dile que no
Setenta-y-Uno Start like setenta, but instead of enchufle for the man, hook the follow's left arm with the right arm, then lead the follow all the way around the lead.
Setenta-Y-Dos Start like Setenta, but instead of enchufle for the man, hook both arms and rotate a full turn together while marking time, then dile que no.
Siete Moderno Like el atrevido, except check the follow's left arm to stop rotation, and lead a turn to a dile que no
Vacilense Los Dos Like Vacilala, except the lead also adds a turn before recovering the follow for dile que no
